Puerto Antofagasta welcomed Victor M. Cervino and Tyler Brace, senior advisers to the U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, accompanied by Anne Sackville-West, a representative of the U.S. Embassy in Chile.
During the meeting, participants discussed the infrastructure and connectivity needs associated with the growth of regional mining, new industries and the Bioceanic Corridor.
In this context, the company presented its strategic projects: the expansion of the Molo de Abrigo breakwater, the Zona de Desarrollo Logístico La Negra, and the modernization of Antepuerto Portezuelo. These initiatives aim to improve maritime operating conditions and strengthen onshore infrastructure for cargo storage and handling.
The visit included a tour of the facilities, giving the delegation a firsthand look at port operations.
Through the development of these projects, Puerto Antofagasta seeks to strengthen the logistics system that supports regional production and Chile’s foreign trade, helping consolidate the region as a logistics hub and a platform for international integration.
The meeting continued the port’s engagement with U.S. representatives, following an earlier visit to its facilities by the U.S. ambassador.
