Puerto Antofagasta received certification under the Clean Production Agreement (APL) “Management of Construction and Demolition Waste (CDW) and Efficient Water Use. Towards a Circular Economy in the Antofagasta Region,” an initiative promoted by the Agencia de Sustentabilidad y Cambio Climático de Corfo and the Cámara Chilena de la Construcción Antofagasta.
The recognition confirms 100% compliance with the targets and actions established under the agreement. This achievement brings the Port’s total to four Clean Production Agreement certifications, continuing its institutional efforts to adopt better environmental practices and move towards increasingly sustainable operations.
As part of this process, the Port introduced sustainable procurement criteria, implemented waste recovery and recycling measures, and adopted tools to measure and manage its water consumption more efficiently. These actions put the commitments made under the agreement into practice and contribute to management focused on the efficient use of resources.
This progress also reflects the value of collaboration between public institutions, businesses and other stakeholders in the Antofagasta Region to adopt better practices and advance towards a circular economy.
